Hello World — SocialJuice — Video Testimonial Collecting and Sharing.

We all know how well mouth to mouth works and how far positive words about a product or service can reach. That’s why testimonials and reviews have such large impact on conversions. We simply trust the opinions and experiences of other humans more than we trust fancy marketing language.

What if we could reverse engineer this phenomenon and use it to our advantage by actively collecting real testimonials from real happy customers and using that as marketing material. We want to see real people, using the real products, real is how you stick out of the noise nowadays.

For the last few months I’ve been building a super easy to use tool for doing just that, collecting and sharing video testimonials. Why video? Well I’m sure you noticed, but everything is video right now, it’s easily digestible and way harder to fake than text, making them way more genuine, and again, real.

The value is limitless, imagine just one of your most happy customers making one testimonial, and that testimonial bringing you one extra customer, it has already been worth it. That one extra loyal customer already paid for whatever SocialJuice costed you.

But that’s not even the best part. You can totally automate the whole thing by simply sending an automated mail with your SocialJuice link after every purchase, booking, workshop, etc. That way, quality testimonials simply show up over time.

It’s called SocialJuice, and it works by simply sending a link. Every business gets its own personal page, let’s say, socialjuice.io/example, you can customize your page to fit your brand; using colors, tone of voice and imagery. On that page, users can record (or type) a testimonial, which get’s saved in your companies dashboard. From there you can share it on social, download it, or embed it on your website. SocialJuice is still very much work in progress, but the whole testimonial collection aspect is functional, and ready to be tested. Sharing options are still limited. Because of these constrains, there’s an early bird package, which unlocks all future updates in a one-time purchase, which is a fraction of the subscription price it will be when SocialJuice is feature complete. If you have any interest, feedback, tips, ideas, or simply want to say ‘Hi’, please reach out! I’m very open to have a conversation.

Techstack

For the nerds interested in our Techstack, the whole project is built using NextJS, the best JS framework for production in my opinion, the backend is using Supabase, an open source Firebase alternative based on postgres. Video transcoding is done using ffmpeg, based on webassembly running on NodeJS on a separate server.
